Governor Makinde swears in 29-year-old as commissioner

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has sworn in, Miss Wasilat Adegoke as the commissioner for youths and sports at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan.

Adegoke, 29, is the youngest member of his cabinet.

The governor also administered the oath of office to Oluwaserimi Ajetumobi as the commissioner for health in the state.

Governor Makinde had earlier sworn in 16 commissioners. This brings the total number of commissioners to 18, as part of the State Executive Council.

Makinde, speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, said he would always forgive the new commissioners, among others, for any mistakes made while performing their job as commissioners but would not forgive them if they failed to perform.

Advising Wasilat, the governor admonished her to always perform her duty as commissioner diligently and not fear making mistakes. He added that, if at some point she made mistakes, he would forgive her.
