Ibom Air passenger remanded in prison over ‘unruly’ act

A passenger identified as Comfort Emmanson, who assaulted airline officials on an Ibom Air flight inbound to Lagos from Uyo, has been charged to court.

Tunde Moshood, who is the Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, disclosed this. He said Emmanson has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.

Moshood revealed this in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.

Last week, a similar incident involved King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, a popular Fuji musician who is often referred to as KWAM 1, and an airline, ValueJet.

KWAM 1 attempted to stop the aircraft from taking off after he was deboarded.
