Fire guts Rivers government secretariat

A section of the Rivers State Government secretariat situated in Port Harcourt has been gutted by fire.

According to reports, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained.

The report added that the fire affected the section that houses the Rivers State Pension Board.

The development comes a few weeks after President Bola Tinubu recalled the suspended Governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, and members of the State House of Assembly.

You may wish to recall that Tinubu had declared a state of emergency in the oil-rich Niger Delta state on March 18, 2025.
