Man, 25, beaten to death during turbaning ceremony in Yobe

A 25-year-old man has been beaten to death during a turbaning ceremony in Yobe State.

A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, shared the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

According to him, the victim, identified as Maina Jano, was attacked during a turbaning ceremony held at Barwa Fulani settlement in Kafetuwa, Karasuwa Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly happened at about 11:50 p.m. on December 26, 2025, while youths were taking part in a Shadi competition during the turbaning ceremony of Lamido Alhaji Kunjo.

Makama stated that Jano, who was from Nassara Fulani settlement in Kumaganam, Yusufari Local Government Area, was allegedly beaten by an unidentified man during the event. He sustained serious internal injuries as a result of the attack.

Although he was rushed to the General Hospital in Kumaganam for treatment, he later died from injuries sustained during the incident.
