
AFCON 2025: Nigeria trash Mozambique to seal quarter-final spot
The Super Eagles of Nigeria qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, thanks to a 4-0 hammering of Mozambique on Monday night.
This is the first time they have won their first four fixtures at the tournament in history.
The Super Eagles won all their Group C fixtures and again proved their superiority over the Mambas in Fez.
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring before Victor Osimhen, who doubled Nigeria’s lead before the break.
Osimhen got his brace almost immediately after being set up by Lookman again.
The fourth goal came after Akor Adams lashed in a powerful effort from inside the area.
Eric Chelle’s men will now wait for the winner of Burkina Faso vs DR Congo in the quarter-finals.
