Sanwo-Olu, First Bank mourn as Onasanya loses mum

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and the FirstBank Group have joined prominent Nigerians and organisations to commiserate with the founder of The Address Homes, Dr Bisi Onasanya, on the demise of his mother, Mrs Selimot Onasanya (Nee Folorunsho), who died on November 16, 2023.

Onasanya, a former Group Managing Director of First Bank, is also a real estate investor.

In a statement on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu was quoted to have in a letter to Onasanya, conveyed his sympathy and acknowledged the impact of the loss on him and the entire Onasanya family.

“Mama was indeed a matriarch whose life was a testament to the enduring values of hard work, honesty, and love for family.

“At 88, she had lived a fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark not just on her family but on the people whose lives she touched. Her nurturing resilience and dedication to family and community are traits that we will always cherish when we remember her.

“I understand that no amount of words can take away the pain you feel at this time, but please take solace in the fact that she lived a worthy and impactful life. Her legacy lives on in you, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Her values, teaching, and love will continue to guide and inspire generations of your family,” Sanwo-Olu said.

In the same vein, Dr Adesola Adeduntan, First Bank CEO, extended condolences to Onasanya and family in a letter titled ‘We mourn with you.’
