Guinness World Record confirms Hilda Baci’s award for largest pot of Jollof rice

Hilda Baci, Nigerian celebrity chef, has secured yet another historic milestone as Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially recognised her efforts for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The global body announced this on its official X account on Monday.

The post reads, “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

The achievement came after a magnificent culinary spectacle held on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Tagged the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’ with Hilda Baci, the event drew thousands of attendees and generated massive social media buzz.

Hilda Baci, who first rose to international prominence in 2023 when she set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now reinforced her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.

The Lagos event attracted celebrities, including Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, and Pastor Bolaji Idowu, who all came out to support Baci’s latest record-breaking attempt.
