30-year-old ex-convict arrested for raping minor in Osun 

Operatives of the Osun State Amotekun have arrested one Dada Isiaka in Ada, Boripe local government area of Osun State, for allegedly raping a minor.

A statement issued by Yusuf Idowu, the state Amotekun spokesperson, on Thursday, disclosed that the suspect was arrested after luring the victim into an uncompleted building and had canal knowledge of the 9-year-old girl.

Brugadier-General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Amotekun Corps Commandant in the state, said the man was arrested in an uncompleted building around the Aogun compound in Ada.

“The suspect was arrested on Tuesday in Ada after luring his victim to an uncompleted building around the Aogun compound of Ada and raped her. The girl raised an alarm during the intercourse and drew the attention of the residents of the area, who quickly called the attention of Amotekun Boripe Command to the incident.

“Our operatives, who swung into action immediately and arrested the suspect on the spot, later discovered that the suspect was an ex-convict who was jailed for three months for stealing.

“The girl was rescued with blood flowing from her private part and was quickly taken to a hospital in the town.

“The suspect was later handed over to the police for further interrogation and prosecution,” he added.
