
Foremost businessman Aminu Dantata dies at 94
Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, Nigerian philanthropist, businessman, and elder statesman, has passed away at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Bashir Ahmad, ex-presidential aide and Kano politician, confirmed his death in a social media post on Saturday morning.
Dantata, who clocked 94 on May 19, 2025, reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday, June 28, and he is expected to be buried in an Islamic way
Ahmad, who served as a media aide to the immediate former President Muhammadu Buhari, stated that “Kano has lost one of its greatest sons and Nigeria has lost a true elder statesman.”
According to him, Dantata will be remembered for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic and social development.
