OPM General Overseer becomes traditional ruler

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Apostle Chibuzo, has accepted the call to become a traditional ruler in his community in Abia State.

The religious ruler said he accepted to be the monarch of his community after many years of calls by his people.

The philanthropist and celebrated cleric, revealed this to journalists shortly after Prince Uzo Nwachukwu, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, presented him as the Eze-elect of the people of Ikwu Orie, Ohanku Ndoki Autonomous Community, in Abia State.

Apostle Chinyere recalled that his philanthropic gesture, which has gone beyond the shores of the country, started in his community and that he promised to do more for the overall development of his community.

He stated that he has always stimulated peace and prosperity in the community, adding that with this new position, he will do more.

The cleric used the occasion to applaud the state governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for his giant strides in the area of infrastructure, while expressing optimism that the governor will industrialize the state before the end of his administration.

Presenting a staff of office to Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere as the Traditional Ruler of Ikwu Orie Ohanku Ndoki Autonomous Community in Ukwa East LGA and a letter of recognition, Prince Uzo Nwachukwu, who spoke on behalf of the governor, said the event followed the overwhelming acceptance and presentation of Apostle Chinyere as the Eze-elect of his people.

While congratulating him on the new position, the Governor challenged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by his people. He also urged the people of Ikwu Orie Ohanku Ndoki to give him the necessary support to succeed.

Mrs. Florence Nwogu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, and Sir Chuka Agomoh, the Director of Chieftaincy, said Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere met all the requirements and was unanimously endorsed by the people of lkwu Orie Ohanku Ndoki Autonomous Community for the position.

Mr. Kenneth Nwachi, who spoke on behalf of the community, said the entire people of Ikwu Orie Ohanku Ndoki were excited by the presentation of the staff of office to their traditional ruler and a worthy son of the community who has distinguished himself through philanthropic gestures.

The event was witnessed by dignitaries within and across the country, pastors, and members of the church.
