Court orders EFCC to release Aisha Achimugu within 24 hours

Justice lnyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release Aisha Achimugu within 24 hours.

The court also directed all parties to report to the court on May 2, 2025, on compliance with the order.

Justice Ekwo had ordered Achimugu on Monday to submit herself to the anti-graft agency in connection with an ongoing investigation into money laundering and other offences.

Achimugu, a businesswoman and socialite, was arrested on Tuesday by EFCC operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, upon her return from London.

On Wednesday, the EFCC produced Achimugu before the court.
