FRSC arrest driver of car moving with three tyres in Ogun
The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) on Thursday, announced that it has arrested and prosecuted the driver of a car moving with only three tyres.
The car, a Toyota Camry, was stopped along the Abeokuta-Sagamu highway on September 4.
It was learnt that the Corps Marshal had earlier ordered a total clampdown on rickety vehicles across the nation’s roads.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of the FRSC, said a patrol team of the FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Abeokuta, intercepted the car with the registration number, FFF 522 TK.
According to Okpe, the driver was further “charged to court for driving a mechanically deficient vehicle.”
She stated that when a recent video of a car traveling along the same Abeokuta-Sagamu road on three tyres went viral, the FRSC in Ogun increased its enforcement against unsafe vehicles.
Meanwhile, Anthony Uga the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, has urged motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations, charging them to shun acts that could jeopardize their safety and that of other road users.
