
Gunmen kidnap two, injure one in Oyo community
No fewer than two people have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Otu town in Oyo State in the early hours of Saturday.
Otu is one of the towns in the Itesiwaju Local Government Area in the Oke Ogun zone of the state.
The two people who were kidnapped were Mr. Dayo Olayanju and the wife of Mr. Kehinde Obasola.
Reports say that Obasola escaped with gunshots, but his wife was kidnapped by the gunmen.
The whereabouts of the kidnapped victims have not been revealed at the time of filing this report.
A community leader in the local government area said that the incident occurred Saturday morning.
The community leader who pleaded not to be named said, “It is true. It happened around 2 a.m. today.
“They were kidnapped in different areas. One was kidnapped along Okeho road.
“I have confirmed it. The two people kidnapped are Dayo Olayanju and the wife of Kehinde Obasola. Kehinde Obasola escaped with gunshots, but his wife was kidnapped.”
Neither the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Adewale Osifeso, nor the state commandant of the Western Nigeria Security Network, also known as Amotekun, Olayinka Olayanju, were yet to respond to the development at the time of filing this report.
