Magnus Abe dumps SDP, returns to APC
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State during the 2023 elections, Magnus Abe, has announced his decision to dump the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former lawmaker made this known during an interview session on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today on Monday.
During the program, Abe, an ally of President Bola Tinubu, said “Politically, I am heading back for the APC.”
Abe was one of the top candidates who contested the top job in Rivers State on March 18, 2023.
He lost the election to Siminalayi Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Abe was also one of the big shots who lobbied for ministerial slots from Rivers, but Tinubu opted for Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor, as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
