Otedola donates N1bn to improve Lagos Security
Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Femi Otedola has donated N1 billion to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the donation, which was presented by Tolani, Otedola’s daughter, at the Lagos House, Marina, on Wednesday.
Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu today (Wednesday) received the cheque of N1bn donation by a patriotic citizen and an ambassador of Lagos State, Mr. Femi Otedola, #realFemiOtedola to the Lagos State State Security Trust Fund. “The presentation was made by his daughter, Ms. Tolani Otedola #shestolani today at the Lagos House, Marina. “Mr Femi Otedola has been a consistent donor to the fund.”
In December, Governor Sanwo-Olu, while unveiling a newly-built police station in the Alimosho Local Government Area, stated that the Lagos State Security Trust Fund was established to support underfunded federal security agencies operating in the state as well as the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the Lagos Constabularies.
