Rivers State Attorney-General resigns

Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, has resigned from his office.

In the letter, Adangor said his resignation was purely on personal reasons.

Adango made this known in his resignation letter to the office of the governor of the state, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, through the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

“I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter.

“I wish to thank Your Excellency for the opportunity and privilege granted me to serve in your administration as a member of the cabinet. My Family and I are indebted to Your Excellency in gratitude,” the letter read in part.

Adangor was one of the cabinet members of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who was re-appointed by Fubara.

This development may not be unconnected with the political crisis rocking the state.
