Tinubu confers national honour on Bill Gates

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic on American billionaire philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, in Lagos.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed this in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

A statement from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation states that Gates is in Nigeria this week to meet with the Nigerian president and discuss initiatives to strengthen the country’s primary healthcare system.
